Internet Explorer and Centring Content
08 January 2007
A post to the CSS-Discuss mailing
list taught me something new about Internet Explorer bugs. I was under the
impression that when in Standards mode the browser would not allow the
text-align
property to influence the position of block level
content. I was wrong. While auto margins are not supported in quirks mode, MSIE
will incorrectly align blocks based on text-align values in either mode.
I've updated my document on the subject. While I was at it, I updated the version numbers in the summary table.
